The Problem of Relationships of Tradition and Creativity During the Crisis of Culture

The article analyzes the interaction of creativity and tradition in times of crisis situations in culture. The author took as a basis the crisis situation in culture during the twentieth century in connection with the development of a new artistic trend of modernity, which tried to destroy the canonical foundations in art. The crisis in the culture of the twentieth century was considered on the basis of the analysis of the concepts of O. Spengler, H. Ortega-i-Gasset, V. Weidle, P. Sorokin, and J. Huizinga.

Сivilization Approach: Historical and Philosophical Analysis of the Methodological Resource

The article is devoted to the analysis of the methodological resource of the civilization approach at the modern stage of the historical process. Taking into account the categorical development of the concept of civilization, the author focuses on two groups of socio-cultural characteristics: unique and universal. The unique characteristic reflects the distinctive, special and original features of a certain historical type of society that is being studied in social and cultural aspects.

The Ontological Foundations of the Institutional Person

While connecting social philosophy with ontology the ontological foundations of the institutional person are opening new unexplored strata of the creation thus greatly broadening the horizons of a scientific research. Using the rational synthesis of religious and scientific world outlook, "mechanical" principles of self-organization of a material world are supplemented by consciousness the forms of which are intrinsic not only to a person.

Problems and Concepts of Philosophy and Philosophy of Science: the Phenomenon of Contextuality

This article refers to the analysis of a ratio of science and culture in the context of the new European philosophy. Science as a sociocultural phenomenon always had a special place in culture. Rapid development of science within the last two centuries naturally forces philosophy to look for new approaches to understanding of the nature of scientific knowledge and scientific activity.

Risk-generating Aspect of Education and Sociocultural Potential of the Society in the Context of Digitalization

The object of the authors’ research is the modern society, in which digitalization initiates the endless change of situations derived from the development of the information technology environment. Digitalization is transforming systemic social processes, local practices, and such a strategically important area as education, which is most sensitive to a state of uncertainty. Since uncertainty causes existential risks, the need for an anthropological approach to the analysis of everyday life arises in the study of the risk-generating aspect of education.

New media communications take people away from their background and history, commercial manufacturing and class struggle. Society turns into a giant installation. There, a wide variety of communities coexist and conflict in a playful and, at the same time, hyperreal form, following their own rules of the game. All this forces us to revise the basic concepts of social philosophy. Despite the increase in prosperity, alienation does not disappear. On the contrary, it gets new forms.

From The Gift of Others to the Gift for Others: A Socio-Cultural Aspect of Giftedness

The article presents the results of theoretical reflection of the “giftedness” construct, which is currently not only included in the field of priority areas of scientific research, but also meets the needs, demands and challenges of a rapidly changing modern society. The basic concepts that operate on the concept of “giftedness” are analyzed, and three groups of approaches to the study of giftedness are conditionally identified: personality-centered, socially-oriented, and culturally-oriented.

Cultural status: The dialectics of objective and subjective

The article is devoted to the philosophical understanding of the concept of “cultural status” in modern scientific discourse, which includes structural-functional and communicative approaches and allows to identify the invariant features present in this concept. These features, according to the authors, are associated with the category of measure, which fixes the balance of the diverse features of human nature. Cultural status reflects the position of its bearer in the space-time continuum and the context of values, norms, and relationships.

Meaning-forming functions of the spatial coordinate of culture in Foucault's philosophical concept

The article is devoted to the study of understanding the meaning-forming functions of culture, determined by its spatial characteristics in the philosophical work of Michel Foucault. He puts forward the thesis about the decisive role of space in social practice, the growth of complication of its organization from planar to three-dimensional, and opens up virtual spaces of cultural thinking. Space is understood not only geographically, but as the initial impulse and attribute of culture.

The End of History: Factors and Methodological Parameters of the Conceptualization of the Idea

The article explores the problem of constructing concepts of the end of history. The author draws attention to the anthropogenic, social and historical factors of the emergence and increasing of interest to the topic of finiteness of the historical process. He notes its manifestation in eschatological intentions of theological comprehension and philosophical reflection of the meanings of completing the path of humanity from the past to the present.
