The rehabilitation of practical philosophy in contemporary culture
Introduction. Practical philosophy is most often developed in the form of a study of tradition and its history. The article attempts to explicate the understanding of the practical based on contemporary culture. Theoretical analysis. The loss of reference points and the reduction of the ideal of self-realization to egocentric forms is a problem of contemporary societies. Contemporary axiological, teleological, moral, etc. crises cannot be overcome by restoring one of the historical versions of practical philosophy. The rehabilitation of practical philosophy is considered in line with those strategies of social and humanitarian thought of the late twentieth – early twenty-first centuries that seek to conceptually express a large-scale change in worldview. The course of the study confirmed the validity of operating with them, the heuristic effect of the concepts of “modernity”, “affective subject”, “new sincerity”, “aesthetics of existence”, with the help of which the theme of “practical turn in post-metaphysical philosophy” is revealed. Conclusion. The analysis of the beliefs and arguments, possible philosophical attitudes, characterizing the project of metamodernism as a new cultural logic, alternative to postmodernism, allows us to record a return to the discussion regarding the “culture of being” in the context of a changed attitude to the material world; the growth of the significance of the idea of how to form and give shape to the status quo despite the destruction of boundaries and the expansion of opportunities.
