The Memory as a Social Phenomenon

Abstract:
Social memory is a set of knowledge serving as an object of conscious transfer from one generation to another. Its also fixed in the fundamental cultural texts. Study of these texts is a major term of the socialization of an individual in a certain cultural group. Social groups are the mediums of cultural memory, since the processes of communication among the members of the groups act as the constant indicators of the relevance of the information circulating in the society.
