Social Capital as a Psychological Phenomenon
The article is devoted to the problem of substantiating the phenomenon of “social capital” as a psychological phenomenon. The purpose of the study presented in the article was to systematically review the articles devoted to the problem of social capital, executed in a psychological perspective. It is shown that the unprecedented growth of researchers' interest in the problem of social capital is connected with its consideration as a resource for the development of a society that contains the explanatory potential of a set of factors that contribute to and / or hinder the achievement of the well-being of society. There is a lack of unity in understanding the concept of social capital, which indicates its complex and multifaceted social nature. In addition, this fact is evidence that the concept of social capital is actively undergoing the stage of definition. The directions of research in modern psychology are presented, which are of interest for the development of the problem field of social capital as a psychological phenomenon. Against the background of the observed conceptual discrepancy, attempts are made to pre-operationalize the phenomenon of social capital through psychological categories: attitudes, subjective personality characteristics, interpersonal relationships, trust, cultural norms, social experience, axiological orientation. However, despite the existence of specific theoretical and methodological approaches and research opportunities to disclose the psychological content of social capital, it is obvious that difficulties in their implementation are also evident.
