Determinants of Self-Representations of the Personality

Abstract: 

Results of the empirical study are presented. Scientific research is directed on studying of subjective estimation of own visual image, presented in photos, and also connections of characteristics of an estimated image with personal qualities and features of the self-relation. On the basis of the developed concept of personal representations of “I - Other” interaction and using both classicaland author’smethods of research, the main determinants of personal self-representations “I-real” and “I-ideal” are identified (socio-cultural context, socio-psychological factors, personal characteristicsand characteristics ofself-relation). Connections are established between self-representations, properties of the personality and features of her self-relation. Applied aspect of analyzing the problem can be implemented in psychosocial programs for training of personal development, to solve practical problemsto optimize there alinterpersonal interaction sand relationships, aswell asto createa harmonio us personal identity.
