Abstract:

Introduction. The available modern psychological researches of constructive behavior in interpersonal conflicts is mostly focused on external resources and methods of conflict resolution (mediation, negotiation, etc.), while the role of internal personality resources remains insufficiently studied. Theoretical analysis. The individual’s activity aimed at changing their own behavior, making decisions, and taking conscious actions can serve as the basis for constructive behavior in interpersonal conflict. Empirical analysis. Regression analysis revealed significant correlations between the components of the potential for personality self-change and the overall constructiveness of behavior in interpersonal conflict. Conclusion. The results of the study indicate that the self-change personality potential, in particular, the need for self-change and the ability for self-change can act as conditions for optimizing constructive behavior in interpersonal conflict. The conclusions of this study are significant for the preventive program development aimed at the formation of cognitive competence in family, professional and educational relationships.
