Salvation or death of Russian culture in the context of an order analysis of basic Russian mentalities
Introduction. The article presents the results of the construction of an integrative model that combines two concepts – the concept of basic Russian mentalities by V.E. Semenov and the concept of basic types of ethical meanings in the order approach to the socio-psychological study of the phenomenon of culture by L. N. Aksenovskaya. Theoretical analysis. Ideas about cultural norm and pathology based on the works of P. Florensky, A. Schweitzer and P. Kozlowski are considered. On the soteriological axis of “salvation-death”, “salvation” of culture is characterized as orientation towards spiritual and moral values and meanings, the “death” of culture is understood as its degradation and pathologization, manifested in the blurring of the boundaries between good and evil, devaluation of human life and human dignity. The article considers the concept of basic Russian mentalities by V. E. Semenov in the context of exacerbation of contradictions between different types of mentalities in our society under the influence of conflict with Western countries and the main types of Russian basic mentalities (Orthodox-Russian, collectivist-socialist, individualist-capitalist, criminal-mafia, mosaic-conformist pseudo-mentality). The model of basic ethical meanings in the order concept (life – death, cooperation – struggle, improvement – deterioration, responsibility – irresponsibility) is characterized. A comparison was made between the basic types of Russian mentality and the basic ethical meanings at the level of cultural ethical-semantic codes. Their correspondence to each other was revealed. Conclusion. It was concluded that there is heuristic potential in combining the two concepts and the predictive capabilities of the combined model to assess the soteriological consequences of the dominance of each type of basic mentality for Russian culture.
