The article is devoted to the peculiarities of spiritual and moral education in the modern children’s library. This direction of educational work is connected with the main mission of libraries – familiarizing users with reading.

The article discusses the trends in the field of domestic spiritual and moral family pedagogy, which are based on one or another system of values that should be learned by the child in the process of education. The relevance of the topic is due to the decline of family authority in modern society and the need to find the best ways to restore it. The aim of the work is to study trends and search for perspectives in the field of family education.

The article presents some results of studying the features of spiritual and moral formation of the junior pupil personality at the lessons of the Russian language and literary reading. Spiritual and moral education is one of the priorities in the activities of educational organizations.
