Training in Schools of GULAG NKVD USSR During the Great Patriotic War

Abstract: 

The article considers the peculiarities of personnel selection and recruitment of penitentiary staff in schools of GULAG NKVD USSR during the Great Patriotic War. Analyzed archival materials, first introduced in a scientific use, identified problems of development of school system GULAG NKVD USSR in 1941–1945 and professional training of penitentiary staff. Conclusions are made that the search of effective organizational and pedagogical model of functioning of school system Gulag led the reorganization of the existing schools for training of penitentiary staff and the creation of new, and gained during this historical and pedagogical experience can be used in modern training processes.
