Introduction. This paper provides the analysis of the concept of kalokagathia: its interpretation in Antiquity and its subsequent influence on the novels of the “great Pentateuch” by F. M. Dostoevsky. Kalokagathia should be understood as the harmony between the spiritual world and its bodily incarnation i.e. the connection between the anthological and the ontological. This problem, which is enduring, seems relevant at the present stage of development of scientific knowledge.
