Article is devoted to consideration of transformation of idea of the sovereignty according the influence of changes occurring in structure of modern society. Globalization process destroys a parity of physical and social space. That forces to reinterpret an idea of the sovereignty and possibility of its application in socially-philosophical knowledge anew.

The article discusses the place of nation state phenomenon in an atmosphere of globalization. The object of analysis is the dialectics of global and local; the subject is historical politics regarded as a nation state’s preservation method.
