Optimal distinctiveness theory manifests «self»-categorization theory development, elaborated for the sake of eliciting reasons due to which individuals strive for identifications with social groups as well as for clarifying social identities roles in attaining and maintaining a steady and fixed «self»-concept.

 

Formation of Personal Identity: Parameters of Religious Orientations

The person cannot be understood if to not consider the highest aspirations. But religiousness does not exist in the independent form, and assumes alloy of an ethnic accessory and religiousness. Confession - can be perceived as a condition of development of the person. The ethnic conflict can pass in the intrapersonal conflict at the pupil. The main condition of dialogue of cultures in educational process is the adequate perception of own identity of each subject of this dialogue that is impossible outside of patriotic installation.

Cognitive vs. Affective Factors of In-Group Identification in the USA and in Russia

The presented research consists in a factor analysis of in-group ethnocultural identity of Russian and American respondents. The basis for a questionnaire offered to respondents is constituted by Multigroup Ethnic Identity Measure by J. Phinney. Degree of the defined factors influence on ethno-cultural identity has been detected.

Methodological Basis of "New Religious Consciousness" in V.S. Solovyovs Philosophy

This article is devoted to study of V.S. Solovyovs philosophical research оf «new religious consciousness» as alternative of reflective consciousness. The accent is given to peculiarities of ontological intuition in «metaphysics of universal unity» and to «positive dialectics» as methodology to comprehend supernatural primary substance. Solution of this problem is realized in context of analysis by the Russian philosopher of Gegels dialectics and his interpretation of identity law.

The research reveals certain social psychological and cross-cultural psychological criteria on the basis of which a reference towards minorities as a definite social group may be performed in regards to the labour migration and ethnic migrants adaptation phenomena.

Risk and Life-space of Person

Article is devoted to analysis of risk, life-space of the person and researching of correlation among the concept of risk and the concept of life-space of the person. Author argues that the person is a valuable subject, manifesting itself in a space-time continuum. Person is initially free and open and designs itself in creative act. Risk offers as potentially failed event. Consequently, risk becomes basic characteristic of the person. That shows person’s openness and ability to self-designing.

The Problem of «Self» Studies’ Condition in Early XX Century: Scientific Introspection Data

The research expands an analysis of the problem of the «self»
phenomenon research undertaken by an American psychologist
M. W. Calkins in 1915. Her contemporary psychologists evaded the
«self» justifying by that the scientific psychology had failed to detect it.

Temporal Modi of Social Identity

The article is devoted to the analysis of temporal characteristics
of social identity. It is emphasized that the recognition of time of
personal existence by an individual is the most important condition
of understanding of the identity and the means of its structuring.
The person’s choice of a certain temporal vector is determined by
sociocultural factors. It shows the system of values and the type of
behavior in society and after all the specificity of a certain cultural model.

Empty Place: the Voice of Social Reality

Is it possible to be surprised that cognitive interest in the problem of space, both theoretical and practical, remains stable and even steadily grows along with changes of the ways and character of spatial relations and connections in the society. And is it not natural that this mostly contradictory process depends not only on variability of social and spatial coupling, but also on the point of view of the investigators’ interest. All this opens up new ways of understanding the spatial aspect of social existence in urban conditions.

The Formation of Multiple Identities in the Digital Environment

This article discusses the development of the digital environment and the sphere of human activity associated with the qualitative transition to new forms of reflection. The author analyzes the formation of digital reality from the point of view of cultural and communication phenomena. The analysis of multiple identity and its interaction with the digital space is presented, actualizing the problems of control, transformation and modification of the identification processes.
